Wanda Smallwood passed away peacefully Sunday morning April 23, 2023 at South Place Nursing Home in Athens, Texas.
She was born May 9, 1935 to Ben & Velma Parmer in Hermleigh, Texas.
Wanda was a member of the Kerens First Baptist Church for 60 years where she found so much joy singing in the choir. She enjoyed shopping, traveling with the bank bunch and their camping trips with the Iveys and the Wilsons.
She worked at Bain Insurance Agency for 23 years where the highlight of the day was having coffee with her friends. In retirement, she and Dolwin had fun playing Skip-Bo with their friends, and also her afternoon card games with the ladies (which sometimes last into the evenings.)
She is survived by her husband, Dolwin Smallwood; daughter, Dorinda Padgett and husband Chris; son, Kenneth Smallwood; brother, Bobby Parmer; grandson, Scott Padgett and wife Monica; great granddaughter, Cheyenne Whisenant; great great, Autumn Whisenant and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Paschal Funeral Home. Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Kerens First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in Kerens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Kerens First Baptist Church or any charity of your choice.
