We are sad to announce the passing of Valarie (Romer) Anderson of Kerens, Texas. She left us on September 21, 2023 at the age of 64.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carl Romer and Shirley Romer Bertram, stepfather George Bertram and grandson Braylon Anderson Carter.

She is survived by her children Staci (Chance) Massey, Shirley (Adrian Carter) Anderson and Jake (Jareka) Anderson. Grandchildren Ava and Easton Massey; Isaiah, Kace and Heisman Carter; Audrey Anderson and Harlyn Faulk. Sisters Deborah Kunder and Patricia Stepek of Pennsylvania.

Valarie was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Always there and willing to help others in any way she was able. She had many accomplishments throughout her life, including graduating 7th in her class at Monaca High School (Monaca, PA) which resulted in being a member of the National Honor Society. Later in life she decided to continue her education in the nursing field by obtaining her LVN degree from Navarro College while raising a family and working for her community at Kerens ISD. She was very passionate with her nursing abilities as she brought much love and comfort to all of the residents under her care at Heritage Oaks (Corsicana, TX). She loved her children and grandchildren and lived for them. An amazing woman that will be dearly missed by anyone fortunate enough to know her.

To honor Valarie's memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Kerens Church of Christ with Mr. Jimmy Glenn officiating. We invite anyone who knew and loved her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
