Terry Lynn Keele
Terry Lynn Keele was born on April 5, 1958 in Corsicana, Texas to Jessie Keele and Mary Jewell Keele. He told the story of his mother, like Hannah of the Bible, praying for herself to have a baby, promising God to dedicate him for His purpose, and she kept her promise. He has two siblings, Jewell Lightfoot (Morgan Lightfoot) of Arizona and Ronnie Keele (Kimberly Keele) of Tennessee, both surviving him. Even though they lived a great distance apart, the pride that lit his eyes when speaking of them was overwhelming, and he called them special.
He married the love of his life, Deborah "Debi" Keele on October 22, 1977 in First Church of the Open Bible, Des Moines, Iowa. The Giovingo family became his family in the truest sense. In 1978, they moved to Corsicana, Texas and made their home. Their story tells of passion for service and love, including operating a daycare for more than 30 years, working for KMart Corporation for 25 years, pastoring for over 40 years and establishing a family career in the Petroleum Industry as Field Landmen. In 2017, they permanently moved to San Antonio, Texas. Terry never missed the chance to quote the number of "wonderful years of being married to his best friend", and tell of the rest and strength she brought his life. He knew what he wanted when he found her, and Debi says that she married "The One", the man God picked for her, the love of her life. He is her king, and she, his queen.
Terry and Debi have two children, Megan Keele of San Antonio, Texas, and Matt Keele of Mansfield, Texas, whom he bragged about without governor or provocation. Somewhere along the way, Megan and Matt took to calling their dad "Pops". They both say their Pops is a man with an extravagant expression of love, making the ordinary extraordinary always; his mind never stopped exploring and envisioning and casting vision for new hopes; he is the greatest, fiercest protector with the courage of a lion; there is nothing he wouldn't give- he gave it all. He is a Champion, someone worth knowing.
For over 40 years, Terry and Debi have built an extraordinary life and family that is noticeably close-knit, with the common heart being family itself. The family's boundaries have continually extended to include everyone who wanted in. He is "Pops" to many, as they adopted in love many children, brothers and sisters. Firsts of such adoptions are Marcy Giovingo, a sister, San Antonio, Texas; Christy and Chris Gafford, a daughter and son, of Corsicana, Texas and Jenn Sandefer and Brent Dolbey, a daughter and son, of San Antonio, Texas, great joys in his life. His family extended once again when he met Pastor Warren Beemer and the family at Healing Place Church San Antonio. Terry said he had one simple purpose there, to love and be loved. He often acknowledged the love and honor he experienced among these people, his people; his mission is fulfilled beyond expectation.
Terry "Pops" Keele passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He lived for his Lord, his family, to be all he could be in this earth and to spark the same in others.

I was a member of Light House of Praise on W. 10th in Corsicana. The Lord installed Terry in my life as my Pastor. He was a mighty man of God, gone too soon, for us, but perfect timing of the Lord. With my love and blessing to you all.
