1530 N 45th Street Corsicana, Texas 75110 - Susan Carol Weaver of Rockwall, Texas passed away October 23, 2025. She was 68. Susan was born June 15, 1957 in Longview, Texas to Sam and Billie Slaydon.

Shortly after graduating from Lufkin High School, Susan married Larry Weaver and embarked on the international journey of being an Air Force officer's wife. Following Larry's retirement and relocation to Corsicana, Texas, Susan began her teaching career with Corsicana ISD. After more than 15 years in the classroom, she retired from Bowie Elementary as the librarian.

Susan was one of only a handful of glioblastoma patients to have survived 15 years following operation, and she continued to fight bravely until the very end. Despite her miraculous cancer journey, Susan's proudest moments came from being a mom and grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Weaver and wife Terri of Midlothian; daughter, Stephanie McKee and husband Matt of Houston; grandchildren, Gwenyth Weaver, Camden Weaver, and Callen Weaver of Midlothian; grandchildren, Owen McKee and William McKee of Houston; brother, Robert Slaydon and wife Cathy of Midlothian; brother Michael Slaydon and wife Lisa of Rockwall; and sister Sherri Due and husband Keith of Rockwall; mother-in-law, Vickie Weaver of Tyler; brother-in-law Keith Weaver and wife Denise of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Larry Weaver; father, Sam Slaydon; mother, Billie Slaydon; and father-in-law, Hollice Weaver.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 1 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastors Joe Pool and Christina Hildebrand officiating.
