Corsicana, Texas - Solon Alvis Reeves, Jr. (1939-2026)

Solon Alvis Reeves, Jr., 86, of Corsicana, TX, passed away on February 9, 2026. A dedicated community leader and respected businessman, Alvis lived a life defined by faith, integrity, and a servant's heart.

Born in Shamrock, TX, to Solon Alvis Sr. and Daisy Jewell Reeves, Alvis was a standout athlete and scholar. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1964 and spent his career in executive leadership, notably serving as President of Jas. K. Wilson and Executive Vice President for Hartmarx Specialty Stores.

In 1999, Alvis and his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Dolores, moved to Corsicana, TX. There, he served as Coordinator of IMPACT Drug Prevention, Executive Director of Christmas in Action of Navarro County and was a faithful Deacon at First Baptist Church. An avid sports fan, he was a marathon runner and a lifelong supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and his beloved Texas A&M Aggies.

Alvis is survived by his wife, Dolores; children Alvis III (Kristin), Susan Johnson, and James (Carolyn); six grandchildren, Kara (Ronald), Jordan, William, Philip (Maya), Taylor, and Grace; and siblings Alveeta Corbitt and Dick Reeves (Jeanne). He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

He will be remembered as "the greatest guy" by all who knew him.

A memorial Service will be held to honor Solon Alvis Reeves Jr. on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 1:30pm at First Baptist Church of Corsicana. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christmas in Action of Navarro County Inc. PO Box 2261 Corsicana, TX 75151.
