Ricky "Big O" Owens, 61, of Kerens, passed away Sunday, April 25th after battling a short-term illness. Ricky was born on April 29th, 1959 to Vencie Upchurch-Roberson & Glenn Owens. In 1981, he married the love of his life Melinda Kay, who proceeded him in death in 1997.Together, they had 3 children. Big O's passion was driving 18 wheelers & playing his guitar. As he got older, he found joy in writing poems. There was never a dual moment with Big O, he would always keep you laughing.

Proceeding him in death was his wife, Melinda Kay Owens, his son, Ricky Dale Owens, & his father, Glenn Owens.

Those left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Vencie Upchurch-Roberson; his significant other, Polly Cotten; daughter, Ashley Daniels & husband Ray Jr; daughter, Amanda Owens; Sisters, Janie Martin, Teena Owens and Sandy Owens;one brother, Donnie Owens & wife Dee Ann. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Tray & Khloe Daniels along with 1 niece & 4 nephews & several great nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held at Paschal Funeral Home, in Kerens TX on Thursday April 29th from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Bazette Baptist Church on Friday April 30th at 1 p.m., with Pastor Frank Upchurch officiating & Pastor W.R. Daniels presiding the Eulogy. Burial will follow at the Bazette Baptist Church Cemetery.

Big O will be deeply missed by his friends, family, & all who knew him.
