Raymond  Barber
Raymond Leroy Barber, 95 of Corsicana, passed away Oct. 17, 2019 at his home. He was born July 18, 1924 in Alma to Fountain Edgar Barber and Rachel Shue Barber. Raymond retired from Oil City Iron Works and also retired from Texas Youth Commission. Raymond was a hard worker, he enjoyed carpentry work and working with his hands. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dealey; two sons, Kenneth and Alan Barber; two grandsons, Kenneth Jason Barber and Shane Barber; son-in-law, Jim Phillips; brothers, Willie Barber, Fountain Barber, Buford Barber, Franklin Gamez, Anthony Gamez; sisters, Perl Keel, Grace Morris, Eunice Gamez. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, children, Carolyn Phillips, Raymond E. Barber, Delores Latham, Thelma Neal, Linda Hollifield, Bill Barber. Daughter in law, Debra Barber. 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Kerens Cemetery with Bro. James Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry (Bubba) Hoppe, Justin Simmington, Brad Hollifield, Kevin Hollifield, James Phillips, Jeremy Tipton.
