Corsicana, Texas - Peter Lee Ellington, 72, of Chatfield passed away from this life on July 5, 2026, in Corsicana, Texas.

Pete, known by many as "Bull' for his stubbornness, never met a stranger. He could talk to a fence post and say the funniest, off the wall things. He was a retired Battalion Chief of the Corsicana Fire Department where he worked from 1984 to 2005. When not on shift he served as Fire Chief of the Chatfield Volunteer Fire Department, where he volunteered for over 50 years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Cathy Ellington, sons John Ellington, Travis Ellington and wife Holly. Daughter Charlotte Loper and husband Todd. Grandchildren Sheridan Ellington and fiancé Phil, Zane, Reece, Macy, and Mary Ellington, Kylee, Katie, and Jaxon Loper, brother Pat Ellington, and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ed and Mariella Ellington, in-laws Harvey & Betty Coffey, sister Jeanie McCarty, sister in-laws Kathy Ellington and Denise Coffey, and brother in-laws David and Danny Coffey.
