Linda Gayle Hillis Morris, age 61, was born on February 6, 1960 and a life-long resident of Dawson, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Dawson Cemetery. A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

After graduating from Dawson High School, she attended Navarro College and obtained her degree from Sam Houston State University. She was an educator and spent her career as a teacher in area school systems. She was a life-long member and active in the First United Methodist Church of Dawson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris, her parents, Hue Lynn Hillis, Sr. and Opal Roloff Hillis, and her brother, Hue Lynn Hillis, Jr.

She is survived by her son, James Alexander Morris, one niece and nephew, as well as numerous cousins.

Linda Morris had a love of Dawson and the Dawson Athletics Programs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dawson Ex-Students Association through the Dawson High School.
