Larry Don Calhoun, 85 of Barry, TX passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Larry was born in Drane, TX on December 3, 1939, to Jessie (Jake) and Kathleen Calhoun. In his formative years, he called Corsicana home. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1958 before attending Navarro College. Later in his career as a clerk for the Post Office, he was a favorite of many Corsicana customers. He finished his career retiring in 2001 to his beloved cattle ranching. He is survived by son Kyle Calhoun and wife Gina, son Cary Calhoun and wife Nan, grandson Andy Calhoun and wife Laura, granddaughter Anna Hand and husband Kyle, grandson Matthew Calhoun and wife Cameron, and grandson Austin Calhoun. He dearly loved his great-grandchildren Gage Calhoun, Evi Jo Calhoun, Grady Calhoun, Wrenley Hand, and Sloane Calhoun. He is also survived by sister Sondra Moore, sister Shirlynn Beason and husband Charles, sister Rita and husband Sledge, brother Royce and wife Nancy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Billy Moore. Many have come to know Larry because he would give them a kiss, a Hersey kiss. He found great joy and comfort in his diligent daily study of God's word and his church family. Larry loved creating and playing games, fishing, and "working on the farm". More than that, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid follower of their sporting and livestock showing activities. They were his pride and joy. Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Kyle and Cary Calhoun. Pallbearers will be Andy Calhoun, Matthew Calhoun, Austin Calhoun, Kyle Hand, Gage Calhoun, Grady Calhoun, Clay Beason, and Shawn Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Calhoun, Charles Beason, Sledge Thomas, and Mark Calhoun. Interment will be at the Cambell-Elrod Cemetery.
