Lana Kay Reed Obituary

Lana "Kay" Reed passed away early Thursday morning, February 13, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Kay was born in Waco, Texas on December 21, 1945 to parents, C.O. Sowders and Wynama Mae Kamman Sowders. She moved to the Houston area and worked the City of Humble for many years. Kay retired and moved to the Oakwood/Palestine area and lived there for many years before relocating to Longview, Texas to be closer to her son, Chris.


Kay's favorite hobby was sewing. She also was a licensed Ham Radio operator which gave her great joy and enjoyment talking about.


Kay is survived by her son, Chris Loyd, and wife, Lisa Loyd of Corsicana, Tx; her daughter Terriann Duncan, and husband Oscar Duncan of Apple Springs. Grandchildren, Wanda Kaytlain Loyd, Michael Edward Loyd, Brandon Kyle Miller and Tiffany Nicole Little. And her Great-grandchildren, Alexis Gomez and Paisley Prewit.


A memorial service honoring Kay's life will be determined at a later date.
