Kenneth Mahoney "Pop" Obituary

Kenneth Mahoney, 71, of Trinidad and formerly of Corsicana, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at East Texas Medical Center in Athens with his family and friends by his side.


Born in Rural Shade on June 20, 1934, he lived on the Albritton Ranch with his father Clyde, mother Myrtle Mahoney and sister Helen, all preceding him in death.


He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Malakoff.


A life-long mechanic, he worked for International Harvestor and Sirman Lincoln Mercury before starting his own business in Corsicana.


At the "Garage behind the bowling alley", he spent many a year working and rebuilding a variety of cars and trucks. After retiring to the Cedar Creek Lake Area, he built himself another shop at his residence where he continues working on small tractors, lawnmowers and small engines.


He leaves behind his loving wife Wanda Mahoney, son Kenneth Mahoney Jr. and wife Betty; daughter Alisha Reese; grandsons Charles Mahoney, Kevin Reese and Trevor Martin and granddaughter Tabitha Brotherton and husband Scott, great-grandson Travis Brotherton; niece Gaynelle McGee and nephew Kenneth Weaver.


Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton-Beamon Cemetery in Retreat.
