Kara Wharton
Kara Jennifer Wharton, 30, was killed Thursday, Nov. 8, 2019 on her way to work in a terrible fiery multi-vehicle crash on Highway 35 in Denton, when an 18-wheeler carrying full propane tanks collided and exploded in a fireball on top of five vehicles.
Kara was born July 9, 1989 in Denver, Colorado to Kirstin Griffiths and Mike Wharton. She marriedPaul Ferguson and divorced a few years later.
Kara is preceded in death by her mother, Kirstin Griffiths.
She is survived by her brother, David Cowan, 19; father, Mike Wharton and Rhonda; step-father Steve Cowan and grandparents, Helen and Ken Griffiths.
She is sadly missed by all especially by her partner, Anthony Fragoso.
Kara was a fun loving person and had the most beautiful singing voice. While attended UNT she first majored in music and then switched to Linguistics. She was fluent in German and was especially talented in Japanese and Mandarin.
When her mother became ill, Kara moved to Corsicana and spent the next two years at Navarro College performing in choir and concerts.
Due to the extensive investigation of the accident, no funeral service has been set at this time.
Kara's mantra was "expect nothing, appreciate all."

Hi, I used to work with Kara at Bucees. I am a singer too and I study music aswell. She was such beautiful soul and always made me feel welcomed and happy to see her. I am so shocked by her death. She was a bright mind and a gifted human. I as always felt like I could be a music nerd with her Haha. I miss her and I know I'll see her again in heaven ♡ Prayers for comfort and healing are surrounding all of you.
