Corsicana - Judy Waldrop, 83, of Richland, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 8, 1940, in St. Albans, West Virginia, Judy was a cherished member of the community.
A devout member of the First Baptist Church of Corsicana, Judy found solace and strength in her faith throughout her life. She had a deep appreciation for nature, often finding joy in observing the birds and deer around her. Judy found particular delight in spending time on the lake, where she always said, "The Lake was Her Diamond."
Throughout her career, Judy worked as a beautician, at IBM, and for many years at H&R Block. She was a dedicated wife to her husband, Alan Waldrop, whom she married on February 11, 1961, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them to various places due to Alan's employment, eventually settling in Richland 25 years ago, where they built their home.
Judy will be dearly missed by her husband, Alan Waldrop; her children, Lori Ward and her husband Mike of Richmond, TX; Jeff Waldrop and his wife Michele of Belgium; and Brian Waldrop of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Sarah Webb, Alan Ward, Megan Ward, Courtney Ward, Eric Ward, Hannah Owens and her husband Aaron, and Noah Waldrop and his wife Devin, as well as her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Owens, and sister, Ramona Caldwell of Maryland.
In addition to her family, Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Loretta Jean Midkiff.
Funeral services to celebrate Judy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Corsicana with Dr. Danny Reeves officiating.
Judy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
