Johnny Lynn Wood, 57, of Corsicana and a former longtime resident of Dawson, went to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Trinity Assembly of God Church located on West Highway 31 and Corbet Road in Corsicana with Rev. James Williams, Rev. Wayne Hargraves and Rev. Ken Berry officiating.

Graveside services to follow at 4 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13 at Trinity Assembly of God Church.

Johnny was born Aug. 29, 1960 in Dallas to Joe and Eva Sue (Jones) Wood but moved to Dawson when he was nine years old. He was a graduate of Dawson High School and was an avid Dawson Bulldogs sports fan. Johnny also was a member of the Dawson Volunteer Fire Department and worked in maintenance at several businesses around Dawson and Corsicana including the Tiger Tote, the Dawson Laundromat, Bealls, J.C. Penny's and the Cen-Tex Work Center. Johnny was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Corsicana and also attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dawson. He loved God, his church, Christian music, and his family and friends. Johnny never met a stranger and he would give you the shirt off of his back but not his red suspenders.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Wood and his special Mom, Clara Lee (Clara-Clara) Williams.

Survivors include a brother, Joe Wood of Kerens; aunt, Eva Roland and two cousins, Michael and Buddy. He also had his very special family, Wayne and Jackie Hargraves, Randy, Kathy and Cory Porter, Matt, Ashley, Sadie and Maddison Porter, Joan, Ashtyn and Dakota Delagarza and Rudy Delagarza; special friends, Carolyn Richard, Lisa Miller, Margaret Crabtree, Karen Hulsey, Tanya Lunsford and Martha Fay. He is also survived by his church family and many other friends.

Pallbearers will be James Stringer, Rudy Delagarza, Cory Porter, Matt Porter, Dewey Hargraves Jr., Wayne Brown, John Langford and Tommy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be the Dawson VFD.
