Joe McGaugh Obituary

Corsicana - Joe McGaugh of Corsicana passed away November 2, 2025. Services will be held at 2 p.m. November 6, 2025, at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Bibel officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. He was born in Richland, Texas on October 3, 1923. He was always a caring and loving father, grandfather, and husband; he loved conversing with his friends. It is comforting to know that we as Christians will be joined together in Heaven someday. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church. He was associated with Navarro Savings and Loan for 15 years where he served as vice president and sat on the board of directors. He also served as branch manager of Ellis County Savings and Loan for 10 years. He retired from the savings and loan business in 1989.

He was a member of the Corsicana Masonic Lodge #174 AF & AM. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He served in the U.S. Army during World War 2 serving in the front line with the 27th infantry division during the battle of the Okinawa. He also spent 13 months in Japan with the occupational troops.

He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Brown McGaugh, parents: Tom and May McGaugh, first wife: Lyndell Bennett McGaugh, two brothers, and six sisters.

He is survived by his two daughters: Sherry Dowd (Mike) of Corsicana and Debbie Rodriguez (Alex) of Corsicana, two stepdaughters and one son: Bruce Brown (Cyndy) of Alpharetta, GA, Cindy Gerich (Raymond) of Ennis, Texas, and Renee Bumpas (Kenneth) of Harvest, AL, five grandchildren: Wes Dowd (Jonelle) of Waxahachie, Lindsay Griffin (Teague) of Prosper, Brent Satterfield (Kara) of Scurry, Andrew Rodriguez (Angela) of Rowlett, a number of great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Wes Dowd, Brent Satterfield, Teague Griffin, Andrew Rodriguez, Mike Dowd, and Alex Rodriguez.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Village at Heritage Oaks for the care they provided for our father.
