Corsicana - Joanne Formby, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Corley Funeral Home in The Magnolia Chapel Graveside services will be Thursday, 11:00 am in Oakwood Cemetery, Corsicana, Texas.

Joanne was born on September 18, 1937, in Corsicana, Texas to Holton and Iva Bassham. She met and married her late husband, Edward Formby, at Northside Baptist church on September 22, 1955. She was very active in the church, serving on several committees.

After her children were out of elementary school, Joanne decided to go back to school herself and graduated from Baylor University with a degree in accounting to become a Certified Public Accountant. She owned and operated her own business, Joanne Formby, CPA, for several years. She also taught accounting at

Navarro College.

Joanne enjoyed spending her time on the farm serving as Edward's Ranch hand for thirty years, reading and playing "42".

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Andrew Formby; brother; David Bassham and sisters, Betty Holloway and Janelle Glass.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Donna Good and husband, Mark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sons, Jim Formby and wife, Carol of Hurst, Texas and Tim Formby and wife, Kim of London, England; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
