James Charles "J.C." Colburn, 73, of Pasadena passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 in Houston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eureka Cemetery with the Rev. David Ricker officiating.
Mr. Colburn was born Jan. 16, 1933 in Eureka. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was an avid George Jones fan and historian. He was proud to have been a former resident of the Corsicana State Home, where he was a member of the Alumni Association, and to have attended and graduated from North Texas State University. He loved football and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved to call Corsicana home and eating fruitcake from Collin Street Bakery. He was a man of his word.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Benjamin and Jewel Colburn; and one brother, Allen Odell Colburn.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ann Colburn of Pasadena; daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Bob Workman of Houston; daughter, Kelli Bill of Pasadena; son and daughter-in-law James and Michal Colburn II of Pasadena; son, Aubrey Cannon III of Pasadena; granddaughters Casi Hopper of Pasadena and Jennifer Workman of Houston; grandsons James Colburn III, William Colburn, Travis Colburn, and Nichols Colburn of Pasadena; step-grandsons Neil Lange of Pasadena and Paul O'Donnell of Dallas; step-grandson and wife Patrick and Meredith O'Donnell of Seattle, Wash.; great-grandsons Ethyn Hopper of Pasadena, Nathan O'Donnell of Pasadena, and James O'Donnell of Seattle, Wash.; great-granddaughters Ivy Hopper of Pasadena, and Sarah O'Donnell of Seattle, Wash.; brothers, Willie Benjamin Colburn II of Houston, and Aden Ozell Colburn of Corsicana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
