Jackie Lynn Rawlings Obituary

Richland, TX - Jackie Lynn Rawlings was born March 4, 1951 to Louis "Bud" Rawlings and Mary Lou Minefee Rawlings in Frost, TX. He grew up in Frost with his older brothers Clyde and Robert, and younger sister Bertha until 1965 when the family moved to Streetman, TX.

After high school, Jackie attended Navarro College and then Sam Houston State University. Upon graduation he began working at Big Brown power plant in Fairfield, TX; a career that would last 39 years. An avid baseball and softball player, Jackie would play city league fast pitch well into the 1980's where he made many life-long friends.

He would meet and marry his wife Trula Price in 1983, also becoming a step-father for her two young sons Johnny and Ronnie. The couple bought a house in Richland, TX where they would spend the next 42 years. In 1985, they would welcome their son Cody into the world.

After his retirement in 2013, he devoted much of his time to his grandchildren. He could be found at the local park playing on slides, in the pasture on the tractor, or in the yard playing ball or riding the 4-wheeler around. Wherever he was, a grandchild or three were tagging along with him.

Jackie was well known for being quiet, but kind-hearted and loving. He was a great friend to many people whose lives he touched. Whether it was a co-worker, fellow ball player, or random waiter or waitress in a restaurant, Jackie loved to joke and make people laugh. He could turn any stranger into a friend with his antics and loving personality. He was shy and quiet in a group, but 1-on-1 he loved to make people laugh. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a playful loving Paw.

On June 27, 2025, after a 6 year battle with dementia, Jackie Lynn Rawlings passed quietly in his home with the love of his life sitting at his side. Though he has gone on to be with his Savior Jesus, Jackie will be loved and missed by many. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mary Lou Rawlings. He is survived by his wife Trula Rawlings of Richland, brother Clyde Rawlings of Streetman, brother Robert Rawlings and wife Mary Lou of Corsicana, sister Bertha Farmer and husband Jim of Corsicana, niece Stacy Owen and husband Chris of Huntsville, niece Cindy McCaslin and husband Shane of Mildred, niece Jamie Warner and husband David of Huntsville, step-sons Johnny and Ronnie Ashton of Athens, son Cody Rawlings and wife Kimberly of Mildred, and grandchildren Kaylee, Kenzie, and David Rawlings of Mildred.
