Jack Dudley Huggins, born in Bellville, Texas, on February 2, 1938, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at the age of 86.
Known for his words of wisdom, Jack was affectionately called "Grandaddy" by some and "Grampy" by others, but he was deeply loved by all. He cherished many simple joys in life, especially listening to his son-in-law play guitar and sing, which always brought a smile to his face.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Isabel Huggins; his beloved wife, Sheila Huggins; his daughter, Sonya Choate; his sister, Joyce Ann Hart; and his brother-in-law, Gayle Quinn.
A true pioneer in his field, Jack was instrumental in the development of the concrete pumping industry. His work as a leader in this field, along with his experience as a realtor, home builder, plumber, and carpenter, earned him respect and admiration from all who knew him. Additionally, he proudly served in the National Guard, reflecting his commitment to service and his strong sense of duty.
Jack is survived by his sister, Janie B. Quinn; Cecil Choate, husband of his late daughter Sonya Choate, and their children, Cassandra and husband Sid, Jonathan, and Kathryn, along with great-grandchildren Kristen, Cameron, and Westin, and great-great-grandson Kasen. He is also survived by his son, Jon Huggins, and Jon's daughter, Haylee Craig; his son, Terry Kinnamon, and wife Michelle, along with their children, Daniel and wife Zaira, Sarah, and Rachel, and his great-grandchild, Ezra; his daughter, Sherry Frazier, and husband Steve, along with their children, Tyler and wife Priscilla, Hunter, Austin, Treyton, and Braden, and his great-grandchildren, Tristin, Emily, Keaton, Kasen, Lily, August, and Hadley. He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024, followed by a procession to Kerens Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
Jack's legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved him. His warmth and presence brought joy to countless lives, and his memory will forever be cherished.
