Ila "Sue" Cansler Adams Obituary

Corsicana - Ila "Sue" Cansler Adams, 80, of Austin, Texas passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, of complications associated with Parkinson's disease. Sue grew up in Corsicana, TX and was a member of the Class of 1962 of Corsicana High School. She later attended the University of North Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Texas, spending most of her life in Corsicana, Dallas and ultimately Austin.

Sue was a devoted Christian and loved the community at Saint John's United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and was always exploring new recipes and cuisine. She had a passion for cinema, which she passed on to her two sons. She was known for her gentle spirit and endless amount of patience with children. She spent a considerable amount of her working life caring for children. She loved the children she cared for like her own and they in turn loved her. She was a friend to many, hard-working and self-reliant. Her latter years were spent at Buckner Villas, where she made new friends.

Sue is survived by her brother Larry Lee Cansler and her two sons Glenn Wayne Adams and Tobin Lee Adams. She follows her father Alvin Hines Cansler, mother Ila Inez Cansler, and half-brother Robert Hines Cansler in death.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Saint John's United Methodist Church in Austin at 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana the following afternoon.
