Hal Lawless of Corsicana was born on March 16, 1956. Hal was welcomed into this world by his parents Doctor and Mrs. Harold Lawless on the San Carlos Indian Reservation in Arizona. He joined his parents and brother Brent on March 11, 2023.

Hal is survived by his wife Rebecca Lawless, daughter and son in law Lacy and Brady Smyth and grandchildren Mason and Addison Smyth. He is also survived by his brother Robert Lawless and wife Susan, and nieces and nephew, Joseph and Athena Walls, Cody and Sarah Cannon and Samuel and Megan Lawless.

Hal grew up in Blue Rapids, Kansas. He received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas. Hal furthered his career at Sam Houston State University where he completed a Master's degree in Criminal Justice. He received a second Master's degree in Psychology at Pittsburgh State University. Hal spent the majority of his career in counseling.

Hal was a faithful member of the Unity Group of Alcoholics Anonymous in Corsicana. Hal was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Corsicana. He was an avid University of Kansas Jayhawk fan, a loyal member of the Alumni marching band and enjoyed supporting his Jayhawks in all of their sporting successes.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Hal's life at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana on March 25, 2023 at 10:00 am.
