Corsicana, Texas - Geneva (Brewer) Speed, 92, of Corsicana passed from this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was born on June 2, 1932, in Eureka, Texas to James Malford Brewer and Mattie Elizabeth Alexander Brewer. Over the years she worked at Haggar Slacks for 20 years as a seamstress and later for Corsicana ISD in Food Services at Collins Middle School for 15 years. Geneva had a love for helping take care of others whether at the school or at St. Luke's Methodist Church where she would work in the kitchen during church events and Food for Fitness. She also enjoyed sports, gardening "she loved her flowers", making quilts for family and fishing stock tanks with her late husband and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings and her husband Berry F. Speed in 2016. Geneva is survived by her daughter Mary Kay Pierce (Carrol Pierce) son Robbie F. Speed (Barbara Speed) and daughter Cynthia Speed Jenschke (Michael Jenschke). Five grandchildren; Kristin Phillips, Andrew Speed, Rebekah Clayton, Heather Pettie and Danica Thompson. Thirteen great grandchildren; Brady Phillips, Addyson Phillips, Colby Phillips, Atticus Coffield, Soren Coffield, Gavin Speed, Koen Speed, Graham Clayton, Spencer Clayton, Skylin Thompson, Keira Thompson, Daymian Pettie and Pierce Pettie. She will also be remembered by a number of extended family members and friends.

There will be a service to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00am in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Prior to the service beginning at 10:00am there will be at time of visitation with her family until service time. Burial will follow at Bazette Baptist Cemetery.
