Gabriel H Robles Obituary
Purdon, Texas - Gabriel H. Robles, 78, passed on March 17, 2026, at the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 26, 1947, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Gabriel spent his formative years in Oregon and graduated from Ontario high school in 1966. His academic journey led him to the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1973 and later a Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1976. His career took him to Idaho, where he worked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and later to Texas. These accomplishments became the foundation for a distinguished legal career spanning more than 40 years.
Gabriel established Robles & Associates and Robles Law Firm in Dallas, Texas. His first office was located near Wycliff & Maple. He later moved to Stemmons Freeway, Hillcrest, and eventually to a home office in Corsicana, Texas. He specialized in employment and labor law, sexual harassment cases, and criminal cases in both federal and state court.
Before embarking on his legal career, Gabriel served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970, earning the rank of Sergeant (E-4) and receiving an honorable discharge. In 1969, during his service, his first child was born at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
Gabriel is survived by his daughters, Dana (Craig) Robles Kindrick, Rachel Robles, and Gabrielle Robles; his son, Kody Robles; his grandchildren, Steven Merle-Robles Kindrick, Rhianna Robles, Adelina (Braydyn) Marie-Robles Gillham, and Octavio Joaquin Murray; and his great-grandchild, Davis Ray Gillham. He also leaves behind eleven of his thirteen siblings—Anna, Richard, Peter, Louie, Mary, Johnny, Guadalupe, Ruben, Freddy, Teresa, and Rosemary —along with loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his son, Octavio Joaquin Robles; his parents, Carolina H. Rodriguez and Eleno C. Robles; his brother, Eleno Robles; his nephew, Ezequiel Ramirez; and his brother-in-law, Esteban Garcia.
To honor Gabriel's legacy is to celebrate a man who truly lived—a man whose life was authentically his own. Like his beloved Don Quixote, he chased dreams with unwavering determination: a noble dreamer who imagined himself a knight. He welcomed others into his realm, and we joined him as trusted squires. Sometimes we gasped as he donned his metaphorical armor, battling the windmills of life's trials or riding Rocinante in search of Dulcinea. Those who knew him carry countless stories. He was, in truth, many things to many people.
Gabriel's legacy endures as a tapestry woven from the quiet strength of his spirit—each thread a dream pursued, each knot a moment lived, and each color a connection. In the pattern he leaves behind, we see how a life, patiently and boldly woven, can reveal unexpected beauty. Even where threads are missing or edges begin to unravel, within those intricate patterns, he showed the beautiful collage of conversations, hard work, risk, dreams, music, food, love, art, travel, education, stubbornness, craziness, and family.
A military graveside service will be held May 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery, with full honors. A gathering will follow at the home of his sister, Guadalupe Garcia.
