Esther Ruth Boyd, 78, of Corsicana passed away on December 26, 2021. She was born to parents John Enree Woods and Trussie Lillian Jones on September 24, 1943.

She graduated as the Salutatorian of G.W. Jackson High School in 1961. After starting at Texas Southern University, she went on to study Education at North Texas State University (University of North Texas) and graduated with Honors. Later she also received a Master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Esther worked as an Elementary Educator for 26 years. She worked at Lincoln Elementary and Sam Houston Elementary Schools. After 26 years of service, she retired from Corsicana Independent School District, in 1998.

Esther met Ned L. Boyd III in 1966. They were married on April 1, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. They raised 2 children: Karen Denise Boyd-Williams, Ned Lincoln Boyd IV.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, and helping others. Very passionate about vitamin supplements and family.

Esther is survived by a niece and nephew, daughter Karen Williams (Clemmie), son Ned Boyd IV (Pamela), and three granddaughters: Lia Williams, Samara Williams, and Toviyah Williams.

She was preceded in death by her father, Enree Woods, mother Trussie Jones, and brother, Leonard Woods.
