She would later further her education and become a Certified Food Service Manager where she worked in retail and with several nursing homes. Earnestine retired from Seabreeze Nursing Home in 2010.
Earnestine accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hester Grove Baptist Church. Upon marriage, she moved her membership to Timothy Baptist Church. She later became a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Corsicana, Texas where she served faithfully for many years in many different roles, including as a choir member, youth Bible study teacher, and as a youth director.
As an enduring servant in her walk with Christ, Earnestine received baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. She later decided to move her membership to Johnson Memorial Church of God In Christ where she became an ordained minister.
During her time at Johnson Memorial, she was in great demand as a guest speaker at numerous churches throughout the community. In 1992, Earnestine moved to Houston, Texas to be closer to several of her children and grandchildren. There she joined Lakewood Church under paster John Osteen. She continued her service for Christ as leader for the Church information booth. As her health began to fail, Earnestine decided to move back to Corsicana in 2017 and became a member of Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church.
