David Scott Brooks Obituary

David Scott Brooks passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Corsicana, Texas.

Scott was born in Ulysses, Kansas on August 28, 1972 to Danny and Penne Brooks. His family moved to Texas in 1977. Scott graduated from Stratford High School in 1990. He was a Veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army. Scott attended and graduated from Navarro College with a degree in Nursing.

Scott loved being an ER Nurse, and he was great at it. He touched the lives of many of the nurses he worked with. Scott was a very hard worker, always willing to jump in and help a fellow nurse. He will be deeply missed by his patients and his entire work family, past and present.

More than anything, Scott loved his children. He loved spending time with them. Whether he was teaching them to deer hunt, fishing on the coast, or just watching a movie at home, Scott loved every minute of being with his children.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Edgar and Joyce Brooks and John Capehart, his father Daniel Brooks, his stepfather Kelly Don Berry, and his infant daughter Baylor Brooks.

Scott is survived by his children Branch and Bree Brooks of Corsicana, his stepdaughter Bailey Saunders of Austin, his mother Penne Berry of Kerens, his grandmother Retha Gunn of Kerens, his brother Craig and Jennifer Brooks of Kerens, his sister Teri and James Inmon of Bryan, his nieces and nephews, his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and by his many friends.

A memorial for Scott will be held on April 16, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Kerens.
