Charles William Washburn, 99, of Corsicana, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1925, in Corsicana to Felix and Abigail Washburn.
A devoted member of First Methodist Church, Charles lived a life of faith and service. He was actively involved in the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Gideons, and Kiwanis, always striving to make a positive impact on his community. He enjoyed traveling, jogging, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He also found great joy in Bible study and fellowship.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Alda Ree Washburn and Martha Washburn; his son, Chuck Washburn; his brothers, Donald, Bill, and Tonnie Washburn; and his sister, Louise Prince.
He is survived by his sons, Malcom Washburn and wife Carol, and Calvin Washburn; his grandchildren, Kenneth Washburn and wife Cheryl, Michael Washburn and wife Harley, Andrew Washburn and wife Molly, and Rachael Haynie; and his great-grandchildren, Parker Washburn, Colter Washburn, Emma Washburn, Caydon Couey, Braydon Washburn, and Hannah Haynie.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel, with Steven Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Washburn, Michael Washburn, Ron Washburn, Rickey Prince, Greg Washburn, and Randy Washburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Washburn and Bob Jones.
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and community. His legacy of faith and service will live on in those who knew and loved him.
