Carolyn Montgomery Taylor, 76 of Eureka passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023.

She was born on March 29, 1947, in Corsicana, Texas.

Carolyn loved adventure and spent much of her time traveling. She was creative and competitive from an early age. From basketball and softball to coronation queen, Carolyn graduated from Mildred High School and attained an Associate's Degree from Navarro College.

She was a risk taker in the best sense and used that drive to break ground in her career with Mobil Oil. She was the first female pipeliner and was promoted to Regional TBA Sales and then Corporate Global Coordinator. Her skills and fortitude helped her become one of the few female professional poker players.

Carolyn loved exploring new technology, history, and Native American Culture. She was an avid hunter, fisherman, and collector of precious stones, crystals, and coral. She had an eclectic love of music all her life. Her warm smile only rivaled her sharp wit and sense of humor.

Her Sons, Daughter in Law, and three grandchildren were the stars in her heart whom she loved unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her father Aaron Ferguson Montgomery, her mother Bessie Miles Montgomery, and her son, James Aaron.

She is survived by her son, Ben Jackson Taylor, his wife Manuela Taylor, and their three children, James Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, and Robert Taylor of Corsicana.

Her sister, Margaret Montgomery Thomas, and her husband Gene Thomas of Corsicana. Her niece, LeAnn Thomas Starks of Waco.

Her cousins, Hugh Miles South and his wife Marilyn South of Columbia, MD. Marguerite Miles Harrington and her husband John Harrington of Salt Lake City, UT. Joel Miles of Houston. Jimmy Allen of Rice. Ann Montgomery Connor and her husband Gary Connor of Palestine. Donna Montgomery Settle and her husband Dr Happy Settle.

Carolyn was dearly loved by family, friends, and those like family and she will be greatly missed.

Condolences were directed to Corley's Funeral Home, Corsicana, Texas.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 20th in the evening at Corley Funeral Home between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Services will be held, Wednesday, June 21st at 10:00 am in the morning at Corley Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a private graveside at the Eureka Cemetery.
