A wonderful, precious life of 87 years ended on Saturday night, Feb. 10, 2018 when B.D. Hubbard of Dawson, passed away at home with his children Brenda, and her husband, Micah, at his bedside. It was a bittersweet ending to a most wonderful life.
An only child, B.D. was born at home Aug. 5, 1930 in Purdon to loving parents, Lucy Hood (French) and Leo Hubbard.
B.D. was schooled in Purdon and Alliance Hall and never had any interest in leaving the confines of Navarro County. A real love match, he and his wife, Joyce, operated his Dawson service station and car lot until her death 10 years ago. If asked, B.D. would tell anyone that he was successful because of her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15 at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Mickey Loftis officiating. Interment to follow in Dawson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hodge, Daryl Hodge, G.C. Younger, Billy Truelove, Richard Miller and Bradley Withrow.
