Arthur Joe "A. J." Renfro, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, in Corsicana, Texas at the age of 91.
A.J. was an accomplished, hard-working farmer and cattleman; later in life he spent many years working with his dear friends at JPM Co. A long-time resident of Dawson, Texas, and a pillar of the Dawson community, he served with the Dawson Volunteer Fire Department and on the board of the Dawson Cemetery Association. As a loyal member of Dawson's First United Methodist Church, A.J. served as a church usher there for some sixty years.
He is survived by his sister, Dorris Ferrell; his niece, Becky Dickens; and his nephews, Joel Ferrell and Jeff Ferrell.
A graveside service for Arthur Joe will be held at Dawson Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 12. Visitation will occur at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 11.
