Annice Lee Allen Hill

Annice Lee Allen Hill died on March 18, 2025, after a short battle with ALS. Annice, or Nana as she was known to her grandkids, was born on August 22, 1951, in Lubbock, TX. Not only was she the eldest of five, but she was a Church of Christ preacher's kid, which formed her strong, outgoing personality. In 1971, she married Keith V. Hill. After their service in the Air Force, they moved to Corsicana, TX, where their two children Kyle and Addie were raised.

Annice with her huge smile and big hugs contributed to the social scene wherever she went. In Corsicana, she was involved in church, gardening club, bridge club, and newcomers club - just to name a few. Her true home ultimately became San Antonio after a move there for Keith's work. Annice fully embraced the city and her Southtown neighborhood. For several years, she was the Food Chair and then the Fair Chair for the King William Fair during Fiesta. She wrote the "What's Cooking?" column for the King William Association Newsletter, organized "WITHIT" (Women in Touch in the Hood), and created a book club which grew over the years in her beloved King William neighborhood. She worked for sixteen years as a Project Manager with the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center at UT Health San Antonio. Her love for the families in this study was palpable, and her strong relationships with them continued after her retirement. Annice was an immensely talented hostess, cook, and baker, as well as an incredible home decorator where she displayed her exceptional needlepoint work and an abundance of homemade pickled items, jams, and liqueurs that she shared. She will be greatly missed as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Annice Hill is survived by her sister Susan Allen of Canyon, TX; her sister Monty Robinson and husband Charles of Canyon, TX; son Kyle Hill and wife Whitney of Austin, TX; daughter Addie O'Beirne and husband Hugh of Princeton, NJ; and grandchildren, Ryder and Hudson Hill, and Zoe, Cassian, and Aidan O'Beirne. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Dineen Allen of El Dorado, AR, and Judy Von Ritchie of Waco, TX; and her much loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Annice is predeceased by her husband Keith Hill, her parents Bill and Carrol Allen, her sister Marilucy Allen, her brother William Allen, her brothers-in-law Mike Loe and Larry Hill, and her parents-in-law Charles Vernon and Jewell Hill.

Visitation from 11:30am-12:30pm followed by a brief service will take place on April 10th at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212. There will be a procession after the ceremony for her burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio 78209.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Annice's memory at www.chromosome18.org.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
