Virginia Tillery Hall Sultana, age 87, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana. Virginia was born in Mars Hill, North Carolina October 30, 1929 to the late Ada and Horace Hall. She was the widow of Tony Sultana who she married on Nov. 14, 1948.
Virginia was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Corsicana, and she was active with the Corsicana Senior Activity Center and enjoyed many activities in the city. Virginia, along with her husband, Tony, were long-time volunteers with the Navarro County Food Pantry and served on the House of Refuge Board of Directors.
Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Harold, and her sister, Margaret.
Virginia is survived by her children, Sandra Stephens of Corsicana, Rosanne Barnes and husband Tom of Wyoming, Charlie Sultana of Mt. Calm, Texas, Paul Sultana and wife Elvira of Eureka, Texas, and Chris Sultana and wife Maria of California. She has ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held fom 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 in the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Dawson. Honorary Pallbearers are Ray Phillips of Corsicana, Dillon Hestand of Corsicana, brothers-in-law, Joseph Sultana of Farmers Branch, Texas, Emanuel Sultana of Mesa, Arizona, Frank Sultana of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and Victor Sultana of Warren, Michigan.
