Vernon L. Spicer, Jr., 57, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born Dec. 21, 1959 in Kaufman to Vernon L. Sr., and Sarah (Bracken) Spicer.
Vernon was unique, honest and loving. A carpenter by trade, he used his skills to create wonderful masterpieces. He could see an ordinary piece of wood and bring out its true beauty. He was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He served proudly in the National Guard and was also an ordained minister. He enjoyed cooking different meals whether it was italian, barbecue or cherry nut cake.
His beard was his prized possession, always exclaiming to be living the "beard life" as well as having a fond connection to his tattoos. He was a good soul, good hearted, and "real." Many will testify that their lives are richer having known him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Spicer; children, Clayton Miller, Michael Shane Spicer, Cody Ray Spicer, and Sarah Jeannette Spicer; grandchildren, Hagen Miller, Colton Miller, Chyanne Spicer, Kayden Spicer, and Levi Ray Spicer.
Cremation will be under the direction of Corley Funeral Home. An online guest book is available at www.corleyfuneralhome.com and by selecting the Vernon L. Spicer, Jr. obituary.
