Sue Black, age 86, of Waxahachie passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Blooming Grove. She was born in Waxahachie Feb. 5, 1931 to Bruce and Dollie Maxwell.
She was married to Wayne D. Wooldridge for 25 years before his death. They had three children. Sue later married Floyd Black. They were also married 25 years before his death.
Besides her two husbands, Sue was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Erma Gay Maxwell from Earle, Arkansas; her daughter, Carolyn Valencik (Joe) from Houston; son Jerry Wooldridge (Mindy) from Blooming Grove and Teresa Moss (Debbie Faulkner) from Dallas; seven grandchildren, Dwayne Balencik, Vickie from Houston, Susan Valencik (Sona)Juarez from Houston, Jason Woodridge from Waxahachie, Carrie Wooldridge (Scott Sweeney) from Blooming Grove, Wayne Wooldridge (Amanda) from Garland, Dave Dunn (Virginia) from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Matthew Faulkner from Dallas; great-grandchildren include Toni, Garrett, Aiden and Maddox from Houston, Katelyn (Manny) from Corsicana, Gavin, Sienna, Triniti and Jonathan from Garland and David Lee and Brittany from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one great-great grandson who is just over a month old, Sue was able to get five generation pictures made two weeks before she passed.
Nieces and nephews surviving Sue include Debbie Ritter and Shannon Rippey from Waxahachie, Phyllis Mikulak from Emory, Wanda Lou Hicks and Tony Maxwell from Plano, Darren Maxwell, Mike Matthews from Houston, Rebecca Jo (aka Doll) Maxwell, Margarette Ann Chappel (aka Susie), Galen Maxwell, and Bruce Maxwell from Earle, Arkansas along with her best friend, Evelyn Kimbrell.
She is being cremated and the family memorial will be planned at a later date. There will be no viewing or public services.
The family wishes to thank all our friends and family for their thoughts, prayers, food and friendship.
