Paul's Story

Paul Samuel Loosier of Corsicana passed away at Trisun Care Center in Corsicana on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born to Alton Samuel Loosier and Ada Elizabeth Hawley Loosier on Feb. 27, 1931 in Brownsboro, Henderson County.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War in a field artillery unit earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Paul retired from Oil City Iron Works after 25 years as a Mill Operator and continued to work every day until his health deteriorated. He was very involved as a member of the Westhill Church of Christ caring for the facilities and grounds.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Daries Loosier who passed away in June 2014.
Paul is survived by his children; Garnette Loosier Russell and husband Dickie, Alton Samuel Loosier and wife Carolyn and David Loosier and wife Becky. Grandchildren: Sylvia Nowell, Susan Russell, Harvey Loosier, Michael Loosier, Amanda Simpson and Daniel Loosier. Great grandchildren: David Tapia, Joanna Tapia, Ariel Loosier, Kales Loosier Scales, Andrew Loosier, Morgan Loosier, Landon Simpson, Ryan Paul Simpson and Audrey Simpson. Great great grandchildren: Ryleigh Tapia, Annie Tapia, Jordan Brown, Jayden Faulk and Jaylon Faulk. Paul isalso survived by his siblings: James Loosier, Louise Ferguson Shelton and Charles Loosier.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Sam Dilbeck officiating.
Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Harvey Loosier, Michael Loosier, Daniel Loosier, Robert Simpson, David Tapia and Bryan Nowell. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Loosier and Landon Simpson.
