Ovie's Story

Ovie Burns Mahoney, 103 passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 in Waco.
She was born in Corsicana on Feb. 18, 1913, to Willie M. Burns and Clara West Burns.
She was a long time member of Westhill Church of Christ. She was also employed with Texas Miller Hat Factory for a number of years and retired from the State of Texas.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, John, Carl and Willie Burns Jr.; two sons, Eddie Joe and Richard Gene Mahoney.
Ovie is survived by two daughters, Rita B Loucks of Little Rock, Arkansas and Myra Ferrill of Waco; one granddaughter, Vicky L Pavelka of Axtell; five grandsons, Ricky W. Moore of Waco, Jeffrey D Laux of Little Rock, Arkansas, Chadley D Loucks of Austin, Richard G Mahoney, Jr. of Clifton and John W Mahoney of Tyler; four great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a sister, Fran Reynolds of Corsicana and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials may be sent to Westhill Church of Christ Benevolent Fund 3400 west HWY 22 Corsicana, Texas 75110 or Providence Hospice 6700 Sanger Ave Waco, Texas 76710.
Visitation was held from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 14, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 10 a.m.
