Janice's Story

Mrs. Janice Davis Raney, 72, of Blooming Grove passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1944 in Corsicana to William Henry Talkington, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Nokes Talkington.
She loved to go antique shopping, which included buying and just looking. She had a very caring and giving heart and had a very contagious smile that she will be remembered for. She had a great love for her family to no end. She worked for many years in the radiology department at Navarro Regional Hospital and worked until she couldn't work no more. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She later in life married Grover Earl Raney, who was the absolute love of her life. They celebrated about a year and a half of marriage.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Earl Raney; father, Bill Talkington; mother, Frances Nelson; brothers, Van, Richard and Bill Talkington; and a half- brother, Little Bill Talkington.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Davis and wife Karen of Blooming Grove and Jeff Davis and wife, Kathy of Eureka; grandchildren, Tony Davis and wife Jessica of Blooming Grove, Chris Davis and fiancé Ashley Krajca of Corsicana, Emily Smith and husband Dalton of Corsicana, Jacob Davis and wife Sammantha of Dawson, James Davis of Eureka; great grandchildren, Madison, Makenna and Mason Davis of Blooming Grove, Mason Krajca, Pake Davis and Ezekiel Smith all of Corsicana; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margie Talkington of Corsicana, Mary K. Chittenden and husband Chitt of New Braunfels, Frankie Whisenant and husband Michael of Corsicana, Lena Farmer of Corsicana, Beth Ginn and husband Dean of Corsicana, Ronnie Raney and wife Teresa of Waxahachie, Joyce Marie Smalling and husband Clyde of Primeville, Oregon, Peggy Gunnels of Corsicana, Shelby Raney and wife Laura of Burleson, Charlette Cardell and husband Mike of Denton, Kenneth Raney and wife Joyce of Carrollton, Elton Raney and wife Linda of Corsicana, Steven Raney and wife Tammy of Corsicana, Joy Michelle Serrano and husband Frank of Trenton, Robert Raney and wife Jackie of Kemp, Audrey Harris and husband Nathan of Corsicana, and Henry Raney and wife Charly of Kerens; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her babies, Maddie, Ralph and Sugar that she loved dearly.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charky Marquis and Dr. Rick Lamb officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Davis, Chris Davis, Jacob Davis, James Davis, Dalton Smith, and Ricky Talkington.
