Hulan Daniel Reeves, 75, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy after a lengthy illness. He was born and raised in Corsicana and attended Corsicana High School.
Hulan joined the United States Army in 1961, going forward to earn medals in expert marksmanship and sharp shooter. He was transferred to USAR with a special security clearance. His top-notch unit was involved in the "Bay of Pigs" incident in 1961. He served three years and was honorably discharged in 1964 with many awards and medals. Hulan was a heavy vehicle operator and a courageous paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne division.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fannie Mae Davis and Hulan P. Davis; mother Myrtis Davis Brown and step-father Louis D. Brown, Sr.; son Scott Reeves; step-brothers L.D. Brown, Jr., Kenneth Brown and Steven Brown.
Hulan is survived by his wife, Barbara Reeves of 30 years; son Matthew Reeves and wife Sara; daughter Reka Diaz; one sister Linda McDaniel and husband David; one brother Eddy Brown and wife Charlotte; nieces Lorie Free and Stacey McHaffey; step-daughter Rhonda Terry; step-son Johnny Avery; grandchildren Dusty Terry, Slade Terry, Justin Avery, Isabella Reeves, Josh Avery and Shana Barham along with many friends.
Memorial services are pending at this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Citizen National Bank in Corsicana with the Hulan Reeves memorial account. Donations will be graciously accepted.
