Herbert's Story

The battle is won for Herbert Hoffman. Herbert Hugh Hoffman, 77 of Corsicana passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Herbet was born Nov. 10, 1939 to Chris and Marcel Hoffman. He attended Corsicana High School and served in the United States Air force from 1960 to 1966, stationed at Lackland San Antonio. On June 30, 1967 Herbert married the love of his life Doris Cottongame. They were blessed with one son Ray Ivie and adopted daughter Shane Mann. Herbert was retired from the Corsicana Fire Department and was a dedicated member of the Westside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman, three sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris Hoffman; son Ray Ivie and wife Cheryl Ivie; adopted daughter, Shane Mann and Donnie Mann; grandchildren, Colby Ivie and wife Bethany, Jeremy Ivie; adopted grandchildren, Echo Green, Ben Green, Eric Haugh, Glenn Haugh; great grandchildren, Wade Ivie, Malynn Ivie, Michael Eliott, Exa Green, Olive Haugh, Quinley Haugh, Owen Haugh. Along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Special friends, Dennis and Cora Storch, that were very dear to Mr. Hoffman.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You for the care and compassion that Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice took with Mr. Hoffman and family.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Talbert and Pastor George Coppock officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ivie, Colby Ivie, Bubba Cottongame, Sammy York, Cody York, Bradley York. Honorary pallbearers, Dennis Storch, Kenneth Coppock, Ben Green, Glenn Haugh, Chacne Crosetti, Bill Crosetti and Westside Baptist Church Deacons.
