Estelle Lee Shelton passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 26, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 22, 1929 in Streetman, the youngest child of Sam Henry Lee and Clara Estelle Vinson Lee. As a young adult, she lived in Corsicana. She married Billy Reed Shelton of Kerens on July 7, 1950 in Powell and they made their home and raised their family in Kerens.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Leonard Lee, Annie Laura Lee Blanchard, Juanita (Nute) Lee Lewis, Evelyn Lee Wilson and Carl Lee.
Estelle is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy Shelton of Corsicana; her daughter, Vicki Shelton Sargent of Denton; her son, Lee Alan Shelton of Dallas; two grandsons and their wives, Trey and Couri Sargent of Denton and Hunter and Rachel Sargent of Aubrey; one granddaughter and her husband, Sarah and Chris Griesemer of Waco; two great granddaughters, Avery Renee Griesemer of Waco and Addie Mae Sargent of Aubrey and one great grandson Owen Reed Griesemer who will be born in June. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Mayberry officiating. Interment will follow at Kerens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Shelton Jr., David Wilson Jr., Carl Lee Jr., Ron Wilson, Trey Sargent, Hunter Sargent and Chris Griesemer. Honorary Pallbearer is Robert Hull.
