Earnest's Story

Earnest Carlton "Ernie" Linex, 72, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Corsicana. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard with Minister Cory Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Ernie was born February 24, 1945 in Hubbard to Benjamin "Ben" and Mary Bernice (Lambert) Linex. He lived in Hubbard as a youth and attended Hubbard High School but had been a resident of Corsicana for many years. Ernie worked in shipping at Guardian Industries in Corsicana from 1980-2007. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid fisherman who also loved watching sports including traveling to Hubbard to watch the Jaguars. Ernie also enjoyed seeing his grandkids play sports and was a die-hard Texas A&M fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Melvin Waller and two brothers, Benny Linex and Johnny Waller.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Jones and husband, Tony of Corsicana and Carla Hernandez and Jesus Chavarria of Corsicana; three brothers, Raymond Linex and wife, Dialynn of Corsicana, Gary Waller and wife, Georgia of Mesquite and Ricky Waller of Corsicana; sister-in-law, Sandra Linex of Richardson; grandchildren, Michael Jones, Ashley Jones, Jason Jones, Adolfo Elizondo, Emily Hernandez, Cisco Vega, Erika Hernandez, Whitney Jacobs, Andrew Hernandez and Khloe Chavarria; great-grandchildren, Zayden Patterson, Turner Jones, and Reese Jones and expected great-grandson Grady Jones due in September; mother of his daughters, Gayle Linex of Corsicana; life-long family friend, Lelanie Petty of Corsicana who Ernie considered another daughter and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
