Don Smith of Corsicana passed away Thusday morning, March 2, 2017 at Twilight Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Perrin to William Dalton Smith and Clida Bell Baker Smith. Don married Anita LaJuan Hazelwood, July 17, 1947. He was a member of the Shriner's and Mason's for many years. He was also a member of Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed the company of his two dogs, Baby and Harley.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anita LaJuan Smith and great grandson Kinsler Davis.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Smith and Linda, Steve Smith and Stephanie all of Corsicana; sister, Rosalea Wade of Rutherford; brother-in-law Donald Hazelwood and wife Sharon of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Gwen McCluney and husband Mike, Bryan Smith and wife Andrea, Shae Smith and wife Laney, Chad Davis and wife Kari, Chris Davis and wife Jessica; 15 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Baum officiating.
Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Smith, Mike McCluney, Shae Smith, Chad Davis, Chris Davis and Scott Hampel. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Kinkade, David Putman, Larry Hodge and The Navarro County Shriner's.
