Betty Jane Rivers Clark, 82 years old, left this world for her heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Cedar Hill. Betty was born on Nov. 23, 1934 to Cecil and Jane Rivers in Gatesville. When Betty was quite young they moved to Ennis. They attended First Baptist Church where Betty made her profession of faith in Christ Jesus. She graduated from Ennis High School, and then attended Draughns Business School in Dallas. Betty was employed in Dallas and later took classes at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster.
Betty Jane was married to Kennith Brinston Clark on Aug. 21, 1954 in Ennis.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Kennith Brinston Clark (November 11, 2011) her parents Cecil and Jane Rivers, a son James Monty Clark (February 12, 1958) a daughter, Debbie Jane Clark (February 29, 1976, brother in laws Dewey Lowell Clark, Chandler Boling, and James Owen; sister in law and brother in law L.D. and Margaret (Clark) Lusk.
She is survived by sons; Kennith Michael and wife Renee Clark and Larry Mark and wife Cynthia Clark; daughter, Lorrie Anne and husband James Hudson; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sister Peggy Huckabee; sister in law, Patricia Owen and Sherry Boling and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Lamb officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad Clark, Cory Clark, Jon Grimes, Chris Clark, Matthew Clark and Eric Jordan.
