Anita Christie Donaho, age 95, of College Station, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017. She was born on April 8, 1922 to Andrew and Sallie Slade in Corsicana. She graduated form Corsicana High School in May 1939 and immediately began her career as a secretary, working as secretary to the superintendent of Corsicana High School. She later worked for 17 years for Bethlehem Steel Corporation typing defense contracts. Anita worked for the Wheelock Oil Company for the next 17 years as secretary to the plant manager. She was part of the only seven percent who passed all six parts to the test on her first attempt.

Anita was loved by all who knew her and was willing to help anyone in need. She was very devoted to her parents during their lifetime, and after their passing cared deeply for family and friends. Anita served as President of the OPAS Guild at Texas A&M from 1986 to 1987 and gave her time to help with the Brazos Animal Shelter.
