Wade's Story

Text size

Wade Kelly Parker, formerly of Corsicana, passed away at his Plano home Sunday, Oct. 26, 2017.
Wade was born in Corbin, Kentucky Dec. 8, 1926. His family moved to Ohio, and that is where he developed a life-long passion for sports, which he instilled in his children. His physicality and spirit ensured he pushed the limits of his endurance to his last moments. His focus and determination will be sorely missed.
This same focus and determination carried over to his children and offspring as he always taught the importance of education and furthering contributions to society. In fact, he returned to the University of New Mexico in his 50's to obtain a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Roy and Mary Belle Parker.
He left behind his wife of 44 years, Joyce Parker; two children, Lorraine Breslow and Theodore Parker; three step-daughters, Karen Brodsky, Teri Best, and Courtney Coburn. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Carissa Beene, Chaya Breslow, Chris Jaramillo, Ryan Jaramillo, Hayley Hollands, Lindsey Hollands, Annie Mayers, Michael Myers, Chris Parker, Blake Schneider, Brian Schneider, and Sydney Scout and 11 great grandchildren. He loved, cherished, supported, and shared his contagious laughter with his family.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 22, 2017 at The Conservatory in Plano, 6401 Ohio Drive, Plano, Texas 75024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to UNICEF,125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038, in Wade's memory.
