Mrs. Virginia Lucille Holbrook, 89, of Blue Ridge passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at her residence in Blue Ridge. She was born on March 4, 1927 in Verona, Kentucky to Thomas and Doretta Brooks.
She was the best mother that five little girls could ever ask for, she taught them to go to church and to have unending belief in God. She was the saving grace for her children, and was a very giving person who never meet a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe A. Holbrook; son, Roscoe A. Holbrook, Jr.; daughter, Pamela Jean Holbrook; great grandson, Colt Wolfe; parents and six siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Dora Merriman and husband Louis of Mabank, Sallie Speck and husband Patrick of Blue Ridge, Bessie Portwood and husband John of Italy, Clara Landrum and husband John of Eustace, and Darliene McFarland of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, David Fortner of Tool, John Ragan and wife Liz of Houston, Lajenia Hutcherson and husband Warren of Farmersville, Paula Portwod of Italy, Stacey Wolfe and husband David of Kerens, Niki McQuary and husband Craig of Kerens, Jonah Landrum of Eustace, and James Lee Hays and wife Melinda of Greenville; great grandchildren, Peyton Fortner of Tool, Adrianna Benton of Blue Ridge, Kailee Benton of Blue Ridge, B J Wolfe of Kerens, Alyson Womble of Kerens, Westin Womble of Kerens, Eastin Trull of Kerens, Avery McQuary of Kerens, Anthony McQuary of Kerens, and Gabriel Hays of Greenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary W. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will David Wolfe, B J Wolfe, Peyton Fortner, Warren Hutcherson, Craig McQuary, and Jeff Dover.
