Stephen Stoecklein Stephen L. Stoecklein, age 70, of Barry passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on Oct. 29, 1948 in Pilot Grove, Missouri to Andrew "Gump" Stoecklein and Frances "Fat" Wessing Stoecklein.
He enjoyed a long and successful career in the construction industry. One of his proudest accomplishments was having helped build Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Later he expanded his company into Texas and his two sons joined him into forming SLS Construction.
Stephen was a lifetime member of the Knights of the Columbus for over 50 years and served as Grand Knight for three years. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. Stephen never met a stranger and was so very optimistic. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his cows and ranch life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Eugene, William and Joan.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Vicki; his siblings, Joe Stoecklein, Dennis Stoecklein and Linda Byars; his children, Anna Paul and friend, Travis Warmack, Stephanie Cheadle and husband, Aaron, Keeley Stoecklein and wife, Sarah and Aubrey Stoecklein and wife Cassidy. Stephen is also survived by his grandchildren; Pierson, Allie, Grayson, Jaxson, Carter and Ava as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rosary immediately following at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Marco Rangel officiating.
Julio Garcia, Joaquin Garcia and Anthony Saucedo will be alter servers. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of the Columbus third degree. Serving as pallbearers will be Jayde and Jody Kirby, Maxwell and Nicholas Snodgrass, Jay Heard and Mitch Melendez.
Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Lewis Palos officiating.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or James L. Collins Catholic School at 3000 W, Hwy 22, Corsicana, TX. 75110.
