Sharon's Story

Sharon LaNelle (Keeling) Crow, 80, of Wortham, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at a Mexia hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1936 in Overton to C.L. and Evie (McGaugh) Keeling. She was a former longtime resident of Corsicana where she taught in public schools. Sharon had lived in Wortham for the past 17 years where she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed fishing and hunting and generally spending time outdoors with her husband, Bill.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, C.A. Keeling, a granddaughter, Sarabeth Jarrell and a great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Arrington.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bill Crow of Wortham; five children, Donny Jarrell and wife, Gina of Eastland, Leta Jo Goolsby of Fairfield, Randy Jarrell and wife, Bettina of Wortham, LaNelle Freeman and husband, Scott of Lavon and Kenneth L. Blacklidge Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three step-children, Kim Blair and husband, Kenny of Itasca, Billy R. Crow Jr. of Itasca and Tracy Wilson and husband, Joe of Mexia; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Leigh, Joanna, Randi, Marion, Paul Jr., Juliann, John, Dustin and Joe; 18 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Josh and Brittnay and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 at Wade Funeral Home in Hubbard and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. before the services Thursday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at First United Methodist Church of Wortham with Rev. Chris Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Wortham Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Jarrell, Paul Goolsby Jr., Dustin Freeman, Joe Freeman, Greg Crow and David Crow.
