Ruby Stewart went home to be with her Lord the morning of Aug. 8, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Corsicana to William C. and Ruby Stringer Abbe. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Ruby loved music and enjoyed a wide range that included Frank Sinatra, B.J Thomas, Julio Iglesias and Pavarotti. She was quite the dancer in her youth. When she was able, she loved to garden, but, her favorite hobby was shopping.
She will be missed by QVC and the HSN as well as Uniquely Yours and Cato. She loved being with her family. Even though her memory had faded, she could sing any song in the hymnal on cue.
Visitation with the family will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at Believer's Bible Church in Corsicana with a memorial service to follow. There will be a private graveside service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby; sisters Billie Taylor and Maxine Abbe, and husbands Claude Gorden and Odie Stewart.
She is survived by son, Tim Gorden and wife, Debbie; daughters Randy Wilson, Teresa King Cutherbertson and husband, Chris; grandsons David and Paul Wilson; granddaughter, Stephanie Adams; great-grandsons Blake Adams and Riley Wilson; great-granddaughters Emily Adams and Cecily Stephen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be deeply missed until we see her again.
The family wants to thank the excellent staff at Legend Oaks in Ennis for the love and care they provided Ruby.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Alzheimer's Research.
